Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Whether you’re new to luxury hair or a seasoned pro, we’ve answered the most common questions about our products, order process, and maintenance tips.

1. What are the payment installment options available?

Tabby.

2. What is Tabby?

Tabby is a “buy now, pay later” service that allows you to split your purchases into interest-free installments, making shopping more flexible and manageable. It’s widely used across the across UAE and Saudi Arabia.

3. How to Measure Your Bundles and Lace Products?

When you receive your curly or wavy hair bundles, don’t worry if they look slightly shorter than expected—that’s completely normal. These textures are measured by stretching the hair straight, not in their natural curled or waved state.

To measure your bundle correctly:

  1. Start at the weft (the stitched top part of the bundle).
  2. Gently pull the hair straight and measure all the way down to the tips using a measuring tape.

For example, a Raw Curly Wavy bundle labelled as 22” may look more like 20” when it arrives. Once you pull the curls straight, you’ll see it’s the full 22 inches.

Tip: Always measure curly or wavy hair in its straightened form to get an accurate length.

4. Where is FMG Wigs based or located?

We are based in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), and ship all our products from the UAE to the rest of the world.

5. Can I order online and pick up at the store?

Yes, you can place your order online and choose the in-store pickup option at checkout for added convenience.

6. Do you sell samples of the hair textures or can I come in-store to view the hair before purchasing?

While we do not sell or offer samples of our hair textures, we warmly welcome you to visit our retail locations. Experiencing the hair in person is the best way to feel the quality and find the perfect texture for you—we encourage you to stop by and enjoy the full FMG luxury experience.

1. What’s the Difference Between HD Lace and Transparent Lace?

Both HD Lace and Transparent Lace can give you a beautiful, seamless install—but they do have key differences:

HD Lace (High Definition Lace)

  • Ultra-thin and lightweight—the thinnest lace available on the market.
  • Offers the most natural, undetectable finish, with minimal customization needed.
  • Blends easily with all skin tones.
  • Because it’s so delicate, it requires extra care when handling to avoid tearing.

Transparent Lace

  • Made from high-quality Swiss lace with a light brown tone.
  • Thicker and more durable than HD lace—great if you want something longer-lasting.
  • To blend with your skin, it will usually need to be tinted using lace tint or makeup.
  • The benefit? It’s versatile—you can tint it to match any skin tone.

2. What’s the difference between curl and wave patterns.

Virgin Loose Curl:
Features soft, loose ringlets that resemble a 3B curl pattern. This hair is versatile and can be coloured, straightened, or curled.

Virgin Deep Curl:
Soft virgin hair with tighter curls—looser near the roots and tighter toward the ends—similar to a 3C hair type. It can be coloured, straightened, or curled.

Virgin Soft Kinks:
This virgin texture is soft but coarser than the Deep Curl, with tight ringlets from top to bottom. Comparable to a 4A curl pattern. It can be coloured, straightened, or curled.

Raw Natural Straight:
This texture is soft, thick, and easy to blend. It has a naturally bone-straight pattern.

Raw Blonde:
This is raw hair lifted to a 613-blonde shade. It is thick, soft, and slightly coarse to the touch.

All textures can be colored, straightened, or curled to suit your styling preferences.

WAVE EXSTENSIONS

Raw Natural Wave:
This hair has a soft texture with a slightly coarse feel. It features a natural, modest wave pattern and blends well. The luster is medium to low.

Raw Curly Wave:
This texture starts with a deep wave and transitions into a soft curl. It’s thick, coarse, easy to blend, and has a unique curl-shaped wave pattern.

Raw Wavy Elegance:
This hair is soft and thick, with a coarser feel than the Natural Wave. It features a deeper, tighter wave pattern and is easy to blend with natural hair.

3. What is the difference between a closure and a frontal?

A closure is designed to cover the top front or side part of your head—specifically the area where your part will be placed. The larger the closure, the more parting space you’ll have. We offer closures in the following sizes: 2”x4”, 2”x6”, 4”x4”, 5”x5”, and 6”x6”. All closures are crafted with luxury Swiss lace or HD lace for a seamless, natural finish.

A lace frontal covers the entire front hairline from ear to ear, providing full coverage across the front perimeter of your head. Our frontals come in 13”x4” and 13”x6” sizes. Frontals offer maximum versatility, allowing you to part the hair in any direction. Like our closures, all frontals are made with luxury Swiss lace or HD lace for a high-quality, undetectable look.

4. What is a full lace wig?

A Full Lace Wig is a glueless wig that offers endless parting options, styling versatility, and unmatched flexibility. The hair on the wig is hand-ventilated into the holes of the luxury Swiss lace. Our full lace wigs are available in three sizes: Small (21.5” head circumference), Medium (22.5” head circumference), and Large (23” head circumference). They come equipped with combs and an adjustable strap at the back for a secure fit. Additionally, you can choose from two lace colours: Transparent (for fairer skin tones) and Medium Brown (for medium to dark skin tones). Since each wig is custom made, you can also request to have the combs unattached if preferred.

2. How long will my FMG Hair Extensions/Wigs last?

3. How often do I need to wash my hair?

5. Can I colour FMG Hair Extensions?
Yes, all FMG Hair Extensions can be safely coloured. If you’re planning to colour raw hair, we recommend requesting a medium brown tone—just leave a note in the cart section at checkout. For the best results, always consult a professional colorist to ensure the hair remains healthy and vibrant.

6. Can I swim in salt or chlorine water while wearing FMG Hair Extensions?
Yes, you can absolutely swim while wearing FMG Hair Extensions. However, we recommend washing and thoroughly detangling your hair immediately after swimming to maintain its softness, health, and longevity.

7. Should I seal the wefts on my FMG Hair Extensions bundles?
We highly recommend sealing the wefts only if they have been cut. This helps prevent unravelling and ensures the longevity of your extensions.

What causes hair extension damage?
Let’s begin by identifying the source of the problem. Knowing what leads to hair extension damage is crucial to both preventing it and reversing the effects. These are the most common culprits that can turn your flawless extensions into a tangled, dry mess:

Heat overload: Flat irons, curling wands, and blow dryers can be lifesavers for styling, but overuse—or using them without heat protectant—can leave your extensions damaged and dehydrated. It’s like giving your hair a sunburn.

Product build-up: Styling products like sprays, serums, and mousses may enhance your look temporarily, but over time, they can create buildup. This residue weighs down your extensions, leaving them dull and lifeless.

Tugging and pulling: Rough handling can take a serious toll. Whether you’re brushing or styling, being too aggressive can cause breakage and shedding. Always handle your extensions with care—gentle, slow brushing is the best approach.

Sleep sabotage: Going to bed without properly securing your extensions can lead to serious tangling. Friction from tossing and turning causes knots and stress on the hair. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase or wearing your hair in a loose braid can help protect it overnight.

Neglecting nourishment: Like your natural hair, extensions thrive when properly maintained. Skipping deep conditioning treatments or using the wrong products can lead to dryness and breakage. Keep your extensions hydrated and nourished to maintain their softness and strength.

How Can I Revive My Hair Extensions?
If your hair extensions are looking dull, frizzy, or just worn out, don’t worry — they’re not beyond saving. With a little care and the right routine, you can breathe new life into them. Follow this step-by-step guide to get your extensions looking fresh and flawless again.

Step 1: Cleanse and Clarify Your Hair Extensions

Detangle First
Before washing, gently work through any tangles using a wide-tooth comb or a brush made specifically for extensions. Start at the ends and work upward to avoid causing breakage.

Shampoo Gently
Use a sulphate-free, gentle shampoo. If your extensions are clip-ins or removable, cleanse them in lukewarm water. For tape-in or sewn-in extensions, shampoo your hair with extra care around the bonded areas. Focus on cleansing the lengths rather than the roots.

Rinse Thoroughly
Rinse out the shampoo completely using cool water — this helps seal the hair cuticle and keeps moisture in.

Step 2: Deep Condition and Restore Moisture

Apply Conditioner
Use a nourishing conditioner or deep treatment mask on the mid-lengths to ends. Avoid the roots if your extensions are semi-permanent to keep the adhesive or stitching secure.

Let It Soak In
Allow the product to sit for 10–15 minutes. For better results, wrap your hair in a warm towel or cover it with a shower cap to lock in heat and enhance absorption.

Final Rinse
Rinse the conditioner thoroughly with cool water. Carefully squeeze out any excess water without rubbing or tugging the hair, as that can lead to damage or frizz.

Step 3: Dry with Care

Gently Pat Dry
Use a microfiber towel or a soft T-shirt to blot your extensions dry. Avoid twisting or wringing the hair, as rough drying can weaken the strands.

Air Dry or Low Heat
Whenever possible, allow your extensions to air dry naturally. If you're short on time, use a blow dryer on a cool or low setting. Keep the dryer moving to prevent overheating any section.

Step 4: Detangle and Protect

Detangle Again
Once dry, gently detangle the hair once more using a wide-tooth comb or a suitable extension brush.

Use Heat Protection
Before applying any heat tools, spray a protective barrier to shield your extensions from thermal damage.

Proper Storage
If you use clip-ins or removable extensions, store them in a box or storage case in a cool, dry space away from direct sunlight. Make sure they’re fully dry before storing to prevent mildew or odor.

Step 5: Style and Add Shine

Style with Caution
Feel free to curl, straighten, or braid your extensions, but stick to low or medium heat settings and high-quality styling tools. Try out heatless styles whenever possible to reduce long-term damage.

Add a Finishing Touch
Apply a lightweight serum or a few drops of hair oil to smooth frizz and enhance shine. Less is more—too much product can weigh the hair down and make it look greasy.

Step 6: Ongoing Care for Your Hair Extensions

Brush Daily
Make it a habit to gently brush your extensions every day to keep tangles at bay. Use a tool specifically designed for extensions to avoid pulling or damaging the strands.

Smart Sleep Routine
Before going to bed, loosely braid your hair or wrap it with a silk scarf to reduce friction and prevent tangling while you sleep. A silk pillowcase is also a great option for added protection.

How Can I Prevent Hair Extension Damage?

Once you've revived your extensions, the next step is keeping them in great shape. Prevention is much easier than repair, so follow these simple habits to maintain their health and longevity.

1. Always Brush with Care
This one’s worth repeating — use a wide-tooth comb or a brush made for extensions to avoid unnecessary strain. Start brushing from the ends and slowly work your way up to the roots. This gentle technique minimizes breakage and helps protect the attachment points.

2. Use Heat Wisely
Never use hot tools without applying a heat protectant spray first. It shields the hair from drying out or becoming damaged. Stick to low or medium heat settings when styling, especially for synthetic or chemically processed extensions. Give your hair a break from heat whenever possible by opting for heatless styles like braids, buns, or foam rollers for curls.

3. Smart Product Selection Matters
Steer clear of products that contain alcohol, as they can strip moisture from your extensions and lead to dryness and breakage. Instead, opt for alcohol-free options that help maintain hydration. Lightweight, non-greasy serums or oils are great for boosting shine and taming frizz without making your extensions feel heavy or oily.

4. Don’t Skip Professional Maintenance
Regular check-ins with your stylist are essential for keeping your extensions in top shape. They can spot any early signs of wear and make necessary adjustments. Also, investing in premium-quality extensions from trusted brands goes a long way—better quality means less shedding, tangling, and damage over time.

After detangling for your curly extension wet the hair with a mix of living conditioner and water (more of water). Spray the hair with a generous amount of water to get it slightly damp but not soaked. While spraying the mix, go through the hair with a wide tooth comb or brush, for this will help to define the already curls on the hair.
